Diverse Workforce
In 1997, PepsiCo companies started hiring deaf-mute local
people who, throughout this time, have given us their enthusiasm
and commitment, and have enriched our workplaces,
promoting productivity and core values such as responsibility
and respect.
To carry out this initiative, we have developed
partnerships with public and private local
institutions for the recruitment assessment for
the facilities adaptation, associates training
and awareness programs for fellow employees.
We hired sign language interpreters, and job
position consultants who helped us, to design
better professional growth opportunities for
everyone.
Currently, this program had an impact with the local communities,
helping to reduce discrimination and unemployment,
and giving poeple with disabilities the chance to develop a life
plan.
