Engaging Book
Reports
Book reports are considered one of the main
activities in our English program. They help
students learn more vocabulary and develop
reading skills. They also have the chance of
giving their opinions, analyzing the characters
and the plot while learning important
values.
This year fifth graders showed their creativity
by making a power point presentation
including the title of the book, information
about the author, the characters, the setting,
but also the problem, three reasons explaining
why it would be a good idea to make a
movie about this book, a song that could be
included in the film and a message.

Living
Traditions
Fifth graders explored traditions from all
around the world. Some parents came to the
school to share information from different
countries. We want to give special thanks to:
Gisela Cruz (Rodrigo Ruiz’s mom), Lesley Lee
(Jazmín Fernández- Baca’s mom) and Tania
Pacheco (Kaelyn Pacheco’s mom) who shared
important information about China, Britain,
India and the United States. After getting
to know different traditions the students
chose one them, gathered information and
followed the writing steps to write an informative
text about amazing traditions.
