Elle possède l'un des plus beauxfonds documentaires en histoire de la médecine(800 manuscrits, 100 incunables, 3.000 ouvragesdu XVIe siècle, 6.000 du XVIIe, 12.000 du XVIIIe,plus de 40.000 du XIXe, une centaine de médailles,4.500 clichés de gravure, un ensembleimportant de portraits gravés). Cette bibliothèquemet à disposition à titre bénévole, un informaticienet un documentaliste spécialisé dans les fondsanciens. Le Secrétaire Général aurait en charge laresponsabilité scientifique du site SIHM et samaintenance. Il serait aidé, pour la traduction dufrançais en anglais par le Dr. E. Lomax, SecrétaireGénérale Adjointe. Grâce à ces dispositions, lesdeux sites de Los Angeles et de Paris fonctionneronten miroir et le bilinguisme officiel de la SIHMsera ainsi parfaitement respecté. This libraryprovides, free of charge, the help of an IT expertand of an archivist who specialises in ancientitems. The Secretary General would havescientific responsibility for the ISHM site and itsupkeep. He would be helped by Dr. E. Lomax,Associate Secretary General, for the Frenchinto-Englishtranslation. With these arrangements,the Los Angeles and Paris sites wouldfunction as mirrors, and the bilingualism of ISHMwould be respected. The Board of Directorsagree to this partnership with the Paris BIUM,which will be legally finalised by covenant.12. Publications- Actes :Des difficultés financières ont rendu impossible lapublication des Actes de Cos. Le décès inopiné duProf. Ammar a rendu également très problématiquela publication des Actes du Congrès de Tunis-Carthage. Vesalius est prêt à envisager la publicationdes articles de ces congrès qui doiventêtre soumis au bureau de Bruxelles pour acceptation.De son côté, le Prof. Burns donne l'assuranceque les Actes de Galveston seront intégralementpubliés.12. Publications- Proceedings :Financial difficulties have made the publicationof the Proceedings of the Cos Conference impossible.Pr. Ammar's sad and unexpected deathhas also hindered the publication of theproceedings of the Tunis-Carthage Congress.Vesalius is prepared to consider publishing articlesfrom these congresses, which should besubmitted to Brussels Office for editorial review.Pr. Burns assures us that the Galveston Acts willbe published in their entirety.148
