as Save Loan Cooperation (KSP) of Bina
Umat Sejahtera.
In its operation, KSP BUS Lasem applies
farmer group system. One group may obtain
loan in the amount of Rp 150 million. In average,
each person obtains loan in the amount
of Rp 15 million. Farmers group and KSP BUS
then draw up a credit contract. They agreed
to provide profit for the Cooperation which is
equivalent to 2% value.
Such loan value was indeed on behalf
of the group. However, such fund utilization
was distributed in accordance with each
member’s needs. “The advantage of this group
system is that the accountability towards us
is more secured, since each loan utilization
will be the joint responsibility of the group. In
addition, it is based on the effective experience
that we have had,” said Martono.
Sugar cane farmers group members no
longer sell to the sugar factory in the form of
sugar cane, instead they sell their crops to
other members in one group who have sugar
producer machines. This sugar cane, in addition
to be able to be sold directly at the market,
it may also be bought by soy bean sauce
manufacturer companies.
Becoming Small-Middle Scale Business Partner
KSP BUS Lasem indeed has high level
of care in growing agribusiness /sector. KSP
BUS Lasem also does not experience difficulties
in distributing this agribusiness/sector
fund. Particularly in Lasem, and generally in
Rembang, there are members who have engaged
in the concerned field. In addition to
distributing to sugar cane farmers, KSP also
offers fund utilization of such Rp 1 billion to a
number of agribusiness-industry activators.
The important factor of KSP BUS success
in managing its cooperation fund is its solid
management. The managers have cold hands.
This could be understood considering the age
of the cooperation which has nearly twenty
years managed community fund using sharia
system (Bank Muamalat Takaful-BMT).
The favorable performance due to the
support of appropriate resources has delivered
this Cooperation as one of the best cooperations
in Central Java, possibly even in
Indonesia. What about the installment of Rp
1 billion for agribusiness “Thank God it has
gone well,” said Martono. If there is another
fund granted, we will not face any difficulty in
distributing such fund,” challenged Martono
jokingly.
