PREVENZIONE DEL CARPO INSTABILE POST TRAUMATICO G. M. Grippi MO di Chirurgia della Mano, Divisione di Ortopedia e Traumatologia - ASL 18 di Alba - Regione Piemonte INTRODUZIONE La quasi totalità dei casi di instabilità post-traumatica del polso è conseguente ad un trauma in iperestensione della mano (1). Il danno iniziale può presentare un’ampia variabilità anatomopatologica con uno spettro di condizioni che principalmente si riducono a 3 tipi di lesioni (2,3): - le distorsioni, fino alle lussazioni; - le fratture, che possono interessare le ossa del carpo e/o del radio distale; - o ancora, la variabile associazione di fratture e lesioni legamentose. Due sono i fattori principali che condizionano l’uno o l’altro tipo di lesioni: il primo è l’entità dell’energia traumatica; il secondo è il grado di resistenza delle strutture osteolegamentose. Quest’ultimo fattore, espresso come grado di osteoporosi, dipende, soprattutto, dall’età del soggetto.
