The entire Province offers a wealth of
interesting shopping opportunities. The
towns come to life thanks to colourful
street markets that sell just about
everything, at prices to suit everyone.
These markets become even more lively
and exciting in the villages of the
Malatesta Seignory - as the inland area is
called - during the numerous traditional
food festivals and village fêtes that date
back many years. The roads along the
Conca and Marecchia Valleys are still
lined with craft workshops and antique
shops, and grocery stores that smell of
traditional, genuine products. Alongside
these unusual yet delightful shopping
opportunities are those offered by the
town centres and large shopping centres.
The old town centre of Rimini has a
delightful pedestrian area packed with
designer stores and chic boutiques. The
seafront area recalls the elegance of the
old town, but also offers shops that are
more geared to tourists and vaguely recall
chaotic Mediterranean bazaars. Visitors
should also head off to the two recentlyopened
shopping centres, just a short
distance away from the town centre.
Riccione is the Riviera of Rimini’s
exclusive “lounge” where visitors will
find the most elegant, extravagant and
trendiest shops. The pedestrian zone,
Viale Ceccarini, is lined with coffee bars
and other places favoured by artists and
show business personalities alike.
Bellaria Igea Marina welcomes visitors
with central Isola dei Platani, the first
ever pedestrian zone on the Riviera of
Rimini, as well as the more recent but
equally attractive pedestrian zone of
Viale Ennio, in Igea Marina.
