Sec. XIX. È forse la piazza più singolare<br />
del riminese. La sua forma semicircolare<br />
definita dal porticato neoclassico si<br />
deve all’ingegno dell’architetto<br />
Francesco Cosci. È il cuore del paese in<br />
cui avvengono le tenzoni delle varie<br />
contrade che danno vita al Palio del<br />
Daino.<br />
Dating from the 19 th century, this is<br />
perhaps the most unusual square in the<br />
<strong>Rimini</strong> area. The architect Francesco<br />
Cosci designed this semi-circular<br />
“square” that is surrounded by a<br />
neoclassical colonnade. It is the heart of<br />
the village and is where contests are<br />
held between its <strong>di</strong>stricts during the<br />
Palio del Daino.<br />

Sorge su un promontorio dove nelle<br />
giornate serene lo sguardo abbraccia la<br />
costa da Ravenna fino a Fano. Dal<br />
terrazzo più alto si vedono i monti<br />
dell’Appennino marchigiano e San<br />
Marino sembra a due passi. Ricca<br />
residenza dei Malatesta conserva il<br />
bello stemma che si trova all’ingresso e<br />
gli straor<strong>di</strong>nari affreschi con scene <strong>di</strong><br />
battaglia e ritratti <strong>di</strong> antichi eroi (1370).<br />
Attualmente chiuso per restauri.<br />
The fortress stands on a promontory<br />
from where, on a clear day, it is possible<br />
to see the whole coast from Ravenna to<br />
Fano. The highest terrace affords views<br />
as far as the Apennine hills in the<br />
Marche region and San Marino seems<br />
almost close enough to touch. An<br />
elegant Malatesta residence, it still has<br />
a beautiful coat of arms at the entrance<br />
and houses extraor<strong>di</strong>nary frescos of<br />
battle scenes and portraits of ancient<br />
heroes (1370). It is currently closed for<br />
restoration.<br />

È uno dei luoghi <strong>di</strong> culto più importanti<br />
e conosciuti del Riminese, immerso nel<br />
verde con ampio sguardo sulla Valle del<br />
Ventena. L’immagine della Madonna che<br />
allatta risale al XV secolo.<br />

best-known places of worship in the<br />
<strong>Rimini</strong> area. It is surrounded by lush<br />
greenery and offers spectacular views of<br />
the Ventena Valley. The image of the<br />
breastfee<strong>di</strong>ng Madonna dates from the<br />
