The observatory has two telescopes,<br />
one used exclusively for scientific<br />
research and the other for visitors.<br />
Guided visits, lasting about 2 hours, are<br />
available with an illustration of the main<br />
aspects of astronomical observation and<br />

ettari, riconosciuta dall’Unione Europea<br />
come luogo sensibile dal punto <strong>di</strong> vista<br />
ambientale. Tutela un territorio<br />
interessante per gli aspetti geologici,<br />
vegetazionali e faunistici.<br />
The observatory is situated inside the<br />
nature reserve that covers 1,200<br />
hectares and is recognised by the<br />
European Union as an area of<br />
environmental importance. The<br />
protected territory is interesting from a<br />
geological point of view and because of<br />

È situata nella Valle del Marecchia, in<br />
località “Il Doccio” nel comune <strong>di</strong><br />
Verucchio. Si estende per 17 ettari lungo<br />
i versanti e il fondovalle del Rio Felisina.<br />
Ne fanno parte boschi, aree coltivate,<br />
rimboschimenti, una casa colonica con<br />
annesso parco. L’Oasi fa parte delle<br />
oltre 100 riserve del WWF. All’interno si<br />
può visitare: sala espositiva delle<br />
testimonianze materiali <strong>di</strong> Storia<br />
Naturale della Valle e biblioteca Centro<br />
Documentazione Ambientale-WWF<br />
<strong>Rimini</strong>.<br />
The oasis is situated in the village of “Il<br />
Doccio”, in the municipality of Verucchio<br />
in the Marecchia Valley. It extends for 17<br />
hectares along the banks and valley<br />
floor of Rio Felisina. It consists of<br />
woods, cultivated fields, reforestation<br />
areas and a farmhouse with connected<br />
park. It is one of more than 100 WWF<br />
reserves. Inside, visitors will find an<br />
exhibition hall with information on the<br />
natural history of the Marecchia Valley<br />
and the library of the Environmental<br />
Documentation Centre-WWF <strong>Rimini</strong>.<br />
