Brembo celebrates first pour at all-new cast iron
foundry in Homer, Michigan
Brembo conducted the first pour at its all-new cast iron foundry recentlycompletedinHomer,Michigan.Thefirstpourisapreliminarytestofthe
facility that ensures all systems are functioning properly and is the first
step before production ramp up begins. All systems in Brembo’s new cast
ironfoundryperformedasexpected.TheHomercastironfoundryisthe
fourth in Brembo’s worldwide foundry network and the first Brembo cast
iron foundry in North America. The foundry is also the third manufacturingfacilitythatBrembohasexpandedorbuiltattheHomer,Michigan
manufacturing site. Construction on the 25,000 square meter foundry
beganin2015.BrembowillbeginproductionrampupnextmonthinMay
and the foundry is expected to be fully operational in 2017. The foundry is
adjacent to Brembo’s facility that machines discs and drums for the original
equipment market. Brembo also operates a caliper and corner module
assembly facility at the same location. Brembo invested $100 million
into the Homer cast iron foundry. At full capacity, it will produce an annual
output of 80,000 tons of brake disc castings.

ARABAL conference will focus on a number of important topics including

technology; scrap and recycling; end-user perspectives; and China’s influence
in the market. More than 2,000 local, regional and international
delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors and visitors are expected to
attendtheMiddleEast’spremiumaluminiumindustrygathering.Combining
a strategic conference with an international exhibition, ARABAL is the
only event of its kind in the region to unite all the leading primary aluminium
manufacturers in the GCC, enabling industry leaders to network, conduct
