ABSTRACTThis work relates the <strong>de</strong>velopment of a support computational system to the <strong>de</strong>cisionbased on knowledge and the mathematical mo<strong>de</strong>l to check the obtained results. The <strong>de</strong>velopedsystem <strong>de</strong>fines the chronogram of production of Printer´s X of Company Z, in or<strong>de</strong>r tominimize the setup time (necessary time, in each production, to accomplish the change of thevariables). The objective is to use the most the same variables of a production for other,reducing the number of changes and, consequently, the setup time. Each product has fourvariables: knife, cylin<strong>de</strong>rs, colors and paper, which are used by a machine in each production.The <strong>de</strong>veloped system was implanted in the Company Z and used by the human specialist, inor<strong>de</strong>r to assist him in the taking of <strong>de</strong>cision related to the next product to be produced.Key-words: System support to the <strong>de</strong>cision based on knowledge; Expert system; ExpertSINTA Tool; Euclidian Distance; Setup time.
