Svetlanas Makarovič picture book Pekarna Mišmaš as a modern fairy tale<br />
ABSTRACT<br />
The first part of the diploma thesis is reserved for a general presentation of the fairy tale<br />
and its characteristics and of the picture book, followed by a few words about the author<br />
of the book Pekarna Mišmaš, Svetlana Makarovič, and the illustrators. All four<br />
publications of the picture book Pekarna Mišmaš (1975, 1986, 1997, 2011) are analysed<br />
in the main part according to the reading model of Maria Nikolajeva. Each picture book<br />
is analysed separately, the illustrations are also shown with each text for better<br />
understanding. Locations, characterisation of the protagonists, the perspective or the<br />
point of view, time and motion as well as modality are exposed separately for each<br />
illustration or page. Descriptions of the similarities and differences between the picture<br />
books as well as comparison of the beginnings and the endings of the story and the<br />
comparison of the characters in different publications of the fairy tale from the verbal<br />
and visual aspect are also included. The symbolism of the fairy tales is presented in the<br />
concluding part of the diploma thesis.<br />
