2. Renzo Thönen ist heute Te<strong>ch</strong>nical Engineer bei Giants Software und ist sowohl als<br />
Programmierer als au<strong>ch</strong> als 3D‐Artist im Einsatz. An der Berner Fa<strong>ch</strong>ho<strong>ch</strong>s<strong>ch</strong>ule für<br />
Te<strong>ch</strong>nik und Informatik (HTI) hat er ein Studium als Informatiker gema<strong>ch</strong>t und 2004<br />
mit einer Arbeit in Computer Graphics abges<strong>ch</strong>lossen. Von 2005 bis 2008 hat er si<strong>ch</strong><br />
an der Zür<strong>ch</strong>er Hos<strong>ch</strong>ule der Künste zum <strong>Game</strong> <strong>Design</strong>er ausgebildet. 2008 hat er<br />
mit der Kreation eines eigenen Adventure <strong>Game</strong>s das Studium erfolgrei<strong>ch</strong><br />
abges<strong>ch</strong>lossen. Das Spiel heisst „Mental Repairs, Inc.“ und ist ein 2.5D Point'n'Click<br />
Adventure, in dem der Protagonist Henrik Liaw seiner Tätigkeit als<br />
Mas<strong>ch</strong>inenpsy<strong>ch</strong>iater na<strong>ch</strong>geht. Das Spiel wurde mit der Wintermute Engine erstellt<br />
und ist sowohl vom narrativen Inhalt als au<strong>ch</strong> von der grafis<strong>ch</strong>en und te<strong>ch</strong>nis<strong>ch</strong>en<br />
Umsetzung von hoher Qualität, wie au<strong>ch</strong> einige internationale Reviews unlängst<br />
festgestellt haben. Renzo Thönen arbeitet seit Herbst 2008 als Te<strong>ch</strong>nical Engineer<br />
bei Giants Software in Züri<strong>ch</strong> und ist vorwiegend mit dem PC‐Spiel<br />

3. Matthias Sala ist heute CEO von Gbanga. Er hat si<strong>ch</strong> an der ETH Züri<strong>ch</strong> in den Jahren<br />
2002 bis 2005 und an der Stellenbos<strong>ch</strong> Universität in Südafrika ausgebildet. Seit<br />
dem Jahr 2000 hat er als Software Ingenieur bei vers<strong>ch</strong>iedenen Firmen (u.a.<br />
Siemens) gearbeitet. Matthias Sala „studied on ubiquitous computing, distributed<br />
networks, context‐aware appliances and pervasive gaming and he graduated with a<br />
MSc in Computer Science from ETH Zuri<strong>ch</strong> in spring 2006. After that, he was<br />
working on a resear<strong>ch</strong> project about targeted mobile advertising at the Palo Alto<br />
Resear<strong>ch</strong> Center, Inc. (PARC). Furthermore, he won together with David S<strong>ch</strong>o<strong>ch</strong> the<br />
second prize in the Sentient Future Competition with a vision for an intelligent waste<br />
management system. Since December 2006, Matthias Sala plans to fly high with a<br />

4. Petra Ri<strong>ch</strong>li ist heute 3D Modeller und Texture Artist. Die S<strong>ch</strong>weizerin arbeitet<br />
zurzeit als 3D Environment Artist für Nexon Publishing North America in Vancouver,<br />
Kanada. Sie gestaltet, modelliert und texturiert 3D Environments. Sie hatte 1992 bis 1996<br />
eine Lehre als Mas<strong>ch</strong>inenzei<strong>ch</strong>nerin bei der BOA AG in Rothenburg in der S<strong>ch</strong>weiz<br />
gema<strong>ch</strong>t und dana<strong>ch</strong> auf dem Beruf im Berei<strong>ch</strong>e Ar<strong>ch</strong>itektur und Planung gearbeitet. In<br />
den Jahren 1999 bis 2004 arbeitete sie als Grafikdesignerin im Druckgewerbe. Dann ging<br />
sie na<strong>ch</strong> Kanada und bildete si<strong>ch</strong> am Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (VanArts) in<br />
Vancouver weiter.<br />
„I missed the variety of educational places/programs in Switzerland. The reason<br />
why I went to Canada was the programs they offered. The industry right now asks<br />
for different specialists as programmers (tools programmer, AI programmer, etc.),<br />
texture artists, level designer and so on in every single position. Switzerland back<br />
then couldn't provide me with the specialization I needed to really be valuable for<br />
the industry.“<br />
