ISL222 TEXTUAL STUDIES OF THE HADITH<br />

• He emphasised Islamic bro<strong>the</strong>rhood and campaigned against<br />

oppression, deceit and such o<strong>the</strong>r vices.<br />

• The Prophet fur<strong>the</strong>r stated that <strong>the</strong> fear <strong>of</strong> God is in <strong>the</strong> heart and<br />

that to despise one’s bro<strong>the</strong>r is an evil;<br />

• Finally, hadith 36 stipulates <strong>the</strong> reward accruable to certain acts<br />

<strong>of</strong> devotion.<br />

• According to <strong>the</strong> hadith, whosoever removes grief from ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

person, Allah will remove grief from him on <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>of</strong><br />

Judgment.<br />

• The same applies to those who alleviate <strong>the</strong> lots <strong>of</strong> a needy<br />

person and those who shield o<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

• The hadith reiterated <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> knowledge, charity and<br />

group-learning.<br />
