Lessons<br />
The following lessons are derivable from <strong>the</strong> hadith:<br />
1. We must fear Allah wherever we may be. Allah’s fear purifies<br />
<strong>the</strong> mind and soul.<br />
2. Removing <strong>of</strong> evil acts with good deeds should be practised.<br />
3. The wicked people can be changed for <strong>the</strong> better by being good<br />
and kind to <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
4. We should be <strong>of</strong> good behaviour to o<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

َرَشَع ُعِساﱠتلا ُثيِد َحْلا<br />
َمﱠلَسَو ِهْيَلَع ُﷲ يﱠلَص ﱢيِبﱠنلا َفْلَخ ُتْنُك : َلاَق ،اَمُھْنَع ُﷲ َيِضَر ٍساﱠبَع ِنْب ِﷲ ِدْبَع ِساﱠبَعْلا يِبَأ ْنَع<br />
ٍتاَمِلَك َكُمﱢلَع ! ُمَلاُغ اَي ) : َلاَقَف ،اًم ْوَي<br />
ُ َتْلَأَس اَذإ ،َكَھاَجُت ُهْدِجَت َﷲ ِظَف ْحا ،َكْظَفْحَي َﷲ ِظَف ْحا : أ يﱢنإ<br />
ْمَل ٍءْيَشِب َكوُعَفْنَي ْنَأ ىَلَع ْتَعَمَتْجا ِوَل َةﱠم َأ ْمَلْعاَو ،ِاِب ْنِعَتْساَف َتْنَعَتْسا اَذإَو ،َﷲ ِلَأْساَف<br />

ْدَق ٍءْيَشِب ﱠلاإ َكوﱡرُضَي ْمَل ٍءْيَشِب َكوﱡرُضَي ْنَأ ىَلَع ْاوُعَمَت ْجا ِنإَو ،َكَل ُﷲ ُهَبَتَك ْدَق ٍءْيَشِب ﱠلاإ َكوُعَفْنَي<br />
ٌثيِدَح : لاقو [ 2516 : مقر]<br />
يذمرتلا هاور .( ُفُحﱡصلا ِتﱠفَج َو ،ُمَلاْقَلأْا ِتَعِفُر ؛َكْيَلَع ُﷲ ُهَبَتَك<br />
ِءاَخﱠرلا يِف ِﷲ ىَلإ ْفِرْعَت ،َكَماَمَأ ُهْدِجَت َﷲ ِظَفْحا ) : ﱢيِذِمْرﱢتلا ِرْيَغ ٍةَياَوِر يِفَو . ٌحيِحَص ٌنَسَح<br />
ﱠنَأ ْمَلْعاَو ،َكَئِطْخُيِل ْنُكَي ْمَل َكَباَصأ اَمَو ،َكَبيِصُيِل ْنُكَي ْمَل َكَأَط ْخَأ اَم ﱠنأ ْمَلْعاَو ،ِةﱠدﱢشلا يِف َكُفرْعَي ِ<br />
.( اًرْسُي ِرْسُعْلا َعَم ﱠنَأَو ،ِب ْرَكْلا َعَم َجَرَفْلا ﱠنَأَو ،ِرْبﱠصلا َعَم َرْصﱠنلا<br />
Translation<br />
<strong>Hadith</strong> 19<br />
From Abul ‘Abbas ‘AbdAllah b. ‘Abbas who said: “I was behind <strong>the</strong><br />
Prophet when he said: ‘O young man, I will teach you some words (<strong>of</strong><br />
wisdom). Hold fast onto God and you will find Him ever before you. If<br />
you need to ask, ask <strong>of</strong> God. If you must seek help, seek help from God.<br />
Know that even though <strong>the</strong> community should make a united effort to<br />
benefit you in any matter <strong>the</strong>y would not benefit you aught save what<br />
God has prescribed for you, nor were <strong>the</strong>y to make a united effort to<br />
harm you in any matter <strong>the</strong>y would not harm you aught save what God<br />
has prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and <strong>the</strong> pages are<br />
dry’.”<br />
Tirmidihi relates this and says: “It is a good, genuine Tradition.”<br />
According to a line <strong>of</strong> transmission o<strong>the</strong>r than that <strong>of</strong> Tirmidhi (it reads)<br />
“Lay fast hold on God and you will find Him in front <strong>of</strong> you. Get<br />
acquainted with God in days <strong>of</strong> ease and He will recognise you in days<br />
<strong>of</strong> distress. Know that what missed you could not have hit you, and what<br />
