Support with relevant hadith <strong>the</strong> view that Allah is <strong>the</strong> most loving and<br />

forgiving God.<br />

4.0 CONCLUSION<br />

How do we measure <strong>the</strong> love and benevolence <strong>of</strong> Allah over us? He has<br />

promised for <strong>the</strong> umpteenth time that He is ever-ready to forgive our<br />

sins no matter how big. What He requires from <strong>the</strong> Muslims <strong>the</strong>refore is<br />

for <strong>the</strong>m to have hope in Allah, believe Him and do not associate<br />

anything with him because it is <strong>the</strong> gravest sin that Allah cannot forgive.<br />

One should also seek forgiveness from Him on <strong>the</strong> condition that he<br />

would not go back to sin again.<br />

5.0 SUMMARY<br />

• <strong>Hadith</strong> 41 states that believer must allow his desire to follow<br />

what <strong>the</strong> Prophet has brought.<br />

• <strong>Hadith</strong> 42 reiterates Allah’s commitment and promise to mankind<br />

that he would forgive <strong>the</strong>m no matter <strong>the</strong> magnitude <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir sin.<br />

6.0 TUTOR-MARKED ASSIGNMENT<br />

Allah is Oft-Forgiving; Most Merciful is a verse in <strong>the</strong> Qur’an that<br />

corroborates hadith forty-two above. Explain fur<strong>the</strong>r on this statement.<br />
