1.0 INTRODUCTION<br />
Four hadith texts shall be studied in this unit. These are hadith 17, 18, 19<br />
and 20. <strong>Hadith</strong> 17 provides <strong>the</strong> etiquettes in killing; hadith 18 discusses<br />
<strong>the</strong> issue <strong>of</strong> reciprocity while hadith 19 focuses on <strong>the</strong> teachings <strong>of</strong> Islam<br />
that remind man about predestination. The last hadith in this unit (hadith<br />
20) talks about <strong>the</strong> need for man to maintain decorum in whatever he<br />
does so as to avoid being shamed. As usual, <strong>the</strong> text <strong>of</strong> each hadith, its<br />
translation, commentary and shall be included.<br />
2.0 OBJECTIVES<br />
At <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> this unit, you should be able to:<br />
• read all <strong>the</strong> hadith texts fluently<br />
• translate <strong>the</strong>m into English<br />
• discuss <strong>the</strong> commentary extensively<br />
• give <strong>the</strong> moral lessons contained <strong>the</strong>rein<br />
• describe <strong>the</strong> uniqueness <strong>of</strong> each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
