1.0 INTRODUCTION<br />
There are two hadith texts to be discussed in this unit. These are hadiths<br />
29 and 30. The first one which comes as a reply to a question, is based<br />
on basic principles <strong>of</strong> Islam while <strong>the</strong> second hadith (hadith 30)<br />
emphasises <strong>the</strong> need to abide by those principles and not to violate <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
As usual, <strong>the</strong> discussion follows <strong>the</strong> presentation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Arabic text,<br />
translation, commentary and lessons <strong>the</strong>rein.<br />
2.0 OBJECTIVES<br />
At <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> this unit, you should be able to:<br />
• read all <strong>the</strong> hadith texts fluently<br />
• translate <strong>the</strong>m into English language<br />
• discuss <strong>the</strong> commentary extensively<br />
• give <strong>the</strong> moral lessons contained <strong>the</strong>rein<br />
• describe <strong>the</strong> uniqueness <strong>of</strong> each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
