Potsdam – City of Film 2011
Movie history has been written in Potsdam-Babelsberg for nearly 100 years. Names such as
Marlene Dietrich and Fritz Lang stand for the past; Natalie Portman and Quentin Tarantino
are representative of the present day studios. The Babelsberg Film Park, as a theme park, is
both stage and shop window of this media city. In the oldest museum of fi lm in Germany,
the visitor can learn more about the people both in front of and behind the camera.
The ‘2011 – City of Film’ theme year will be celebrating Potsdam with a plethora of events
such as Film Locations of the Month, the espionage fi lm night on the Glienicke Bridge
(photo) and lots of other different attractions besides.
