Spink is the world’s leading auctioneer
of coins, stamps, medals, banknotes,
bonds, share certifi cates and
autographs. Take just a 15-minute
walk from the Eurostar, St Pancras
International, and you’ll fi nd yourself
on the doorstep of a company steeped
in history and tradition. Spink’s
headquarters are located within
the heart of Bloomsbury and are
surrounded by establishments such
as the British Museum that make
the area a treasure trove of historical
items. Since its foundation in 1666,
Spink has been awarded three royal
warrants, and broken numerous world
records for prices achieved at auction,
including stamps sold on behalf of the
Royal Family.
ADVERTORIAL
KNOWING YOUR TRUE VALUES
Centuries of expertise and personal service make Spink a team you can really
count on when it comes to buying and selling collectables
Each year, Spink holds more than 70
auctions in London, Dallas, New York,
Singapore and Hong Kong. However,
the heart of its business can be found
in London, where dozens of specialists
spend their days assisting buyers
and sellers with their collectables.
In addition to organising and selling
some of the world’s fi nest collections,
Spink also offers a free valuation
service to any individual seeking
assistance. Each and every day they
meet with countless individuals who
may have found a Victoria Cross in
an old drawer, or come across a longforgotten
stamp album in an attic that
contains items worth more than they
could ever have predicted.
In 2004, Spink was presented
with a coin found on a river-bed
by a man walking his dog. The coin
ended up selling at auction for
£230,000 (€263,105). In 2008, an old
stamp album was brought in for
valuation and contained nothing of
value until the last page was turned,
whereupon their specialist discovered
one of the rarest blocks of Chinese
stamps in existence. This eventually
sold at auction for HK$5.29 million
(€488,000). You never know what
you may have gathering dust in
drawers, attics or closets, but Spink
will certainly help you to assess any
collectable that you fi nd.
Spink’s specialists work tirelessly in
seeking out the most covetable items
to offer their clientele. They possess
amazing minds, and a knack for
knowing from just one glance whether
an item is as rare and valuable as we
always hope for them to be. They take
great pride in helping those wishing
to add to or part with their collections.
It’s an honour that is never taken
lightly. Spink’s dedication to customer
service is the reason their clients
keep coming back, generation after
generation, whether in Europe, Asia
or America.
