that her name was Mary. Under her coat, she<br />
was wearing a chocolate-brown uniform that<br />
looked something like a ski suit. She was, she<br />
said, from Venus. Mayer attended at least one<br />

mental message from space people when he<br />
was five years old, after he and his father<br />
watched a saucer-shaped object flying near<br />
their house. In 1944, on his seventh birthday,<br />
Meier met Sfath, a wise elderly extraterrestrial,<br />
who took him for a ride on his spacecraft. In<br />
the course of the flight, Sfath placed a helmet<br />
over young Billy’s head and filled his mind<br />
with advanced knowledge. Periodic contacts<br />
with Sfath continued until Meier was a young<br />
adult. Meier wandered through Europe, Asia,<br />
and the Middle East. Traveling in Turkey in<br />
August 1965, he suffered an accident, which<br />
cost him half his arm. Soon afterward, he met<br />
seventeen-year-old Kaliope (“Popi”) Zafireou<br />
and married her. Back in Switzerland, the<br />
Meiers settled in a rural village. On the afternoon<br />
of January 28, 1975, Meier photographed<br />
