April nth. Ge<strong>org</strong>e Martyn sold his house and land to Philip<br />

Challis. It is described as follows : "His dwelling house &<br />

Lott belonging thereunto, being seven score rodd <strong>of</strong> ground over<br />

& above the one full and compleat half <strong>of</strong> that lott w ch was<br />

given by y e Town <strong>of</strong> Salisbury unto Thomas Macy, & sold by<br />

him unto the saycl Ge<strong>org</strong>e Martyn. The said land being and<br />

lying upon the west side <strong>of</strong> the Powas river, between y e lotts <strong>of</strong><br />

Willi. Sargant & John Hoyt, one end butting upon the river &<br />

the other upon land <strong>of</strong> Thomas Barnard." Martyn bought this<br />

lot <strong>of</strong> Macy October 3d, 1649, an
