77. Increasingly, the Commission’s efforts to raise awareness <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong>ing of its<br />

services are directed at those who may be well-placed to act as conduits for the flow<br />

of information to people who find themselves in a vulnerable position <strong>and</strong> at the<br />

centre of media attention. Most notably, this means working with police (particularly<br />

family liaison officers), Members of <strong>Parliament</strong>, central government departments, local<br />

government authorities, NHS Trusts <strong>and</strong> charities (e.g. Samaritans).<br />

78. The Commission publishes key literature for the bereaved about how to deal with<br />

media attention following a death. It also publishes guides about the Code of<br />

Practice’s provisions in specific areas, including journalistic harassment, children <strong>and</strong><br />

reporting about hospitals.<br />
