A TARGET OF SHOT-PROOF WEIGHT, PROBABLY<br />

of convex circular form, rising at its centre to a small<br />

conical boss, decorated around its edge with a file-roped<br />

inward turn (bruised) accompanied by twenty roundheaded<br />

lining-rivets with brass rosette washers, retaining<br />

its brown leather lining over canvas quilted with tow in<br />

small lozenge-shaped panels, and fitted with the remains of<br />

a pair of leather enarmes attached by pairs of rivets with<br />

radially-fluted domed heads, the top struck twice with an<br />

indistinct mark involving an annulus ( lightly patinated<br />

overall)<br />
