HIS offers a range of courses in healthcare management, epidemiology and medical methodology;
with some aspects of courses and training relevant to Clinical Trials management
and Clinical Trials operations.
HIS provides courses to train students in the identification of information and data needed
by doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, government planners and other health care
professionals and how they are used in order to make effective health care decisions.
Relevant undergraduate courses include:
• Epidemiology
• Medical methodology
• Healthcare ethics and project management.
Graduate studies
HIS offers programs of study leading to the degree of MSc. The school also offers an oncampus
special arrangements program of study leading to the degree of PhD in Health
Information Science. The School has well established linkages to health care organizations
within B.C. and Canada that allow faculty and student to conduct research in a variety of
health related field settings.
