National<br />
Canadian Heart Failure Network (www.chfn.ca) Established in 1999 to improve the current management of heart failure, implement new proven therapies in a timely<br />
manner, <strong>and</strong> collaborate in innovative research approaches to optimize patient management. Has five B.C. members:<br />
Abbotsford Heart Failure Clinic, Central Okanagan Association for Cardiac Function Office (Kelowna), Penticton Regional<br />

Hospital, Surrey Memorial Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital.<br />
Network of pediatric cardiac care providers from the four western provinces – B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, <strong>and</strong> Manitoba.<br />
Pediatric cardiac surgery is performed at two centres - Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton <strong>and</strong> B.C. Children's<br />
Hospital. Network follows st<strong>and</strong>ard diagnostic, investigation, <strong>and</strong> referral protocols.<br />

International<br />
Congenital Heart Surgeons Society (www.chss.org) Not-for-profit charitable corporation based in the US that sponsors <strong>and</strong> oversees multi-institutional clinical studies;<br />
links <strong>and</strong> educates investigators; <strong>and</strong> encourages <strong>and</strong> stimulates investigation <strong>and</strong> study that will increase the knowl-<br />
edge of congenital cardiac physiology, pathology <strong>and</strong> therapy, <strong>and</strong> to correlate <strong>and</strong> disseminate such knowledge.<br />
International group of physicians <strong>and</strong> allied professionals dedicated to improving the care of children <strong>and</strong> young adults<br />
with cardiac rhythm disturbances. The group's primary mission is to foster high-quality collaborative research <strong>and</strong> exchange<br />
of ideas on arrhythmia topics that are particularly relevant to infants <strong>and</strong> children. <strong>BC</strong>CH’s Shubhayan Sanatani<br />
is a member.<br />
