CLINICAL TRIALS AND PRECLINICAL INFRASTRUCTURE ASSET MAP<br />

CARMHA m<strong>and</strong>ate is to conduct research that can be applied to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, <strong>and</strong> quality of mental health <strong>and</strong> addiction<br />

services in B.C. <strong>and</strong> beyond. CARMHA research activities often address innovative approaches to the development, implementation<br />

<strong>and</strong> dissemination <strong>and</strong> evaluation of health promotion activities, preventive strategies <strong>and</strong> treatment services, particularly those that can<br />

be applied at a system-wide, population level.<br />

<strong>BC</strong>CRC performs basic, epidemiologic, <strong>and</strong> clinical research on cancer prevention, early diagnosis of cancer, the molecular <strong>and</strong> genetic<br />

characteristics of the cancer process, <strong>and</strong> basic research related to new treatments for cancer.<br />

<strong>BC</strong>CRC is the research arm of the B.C. Cancer Agency (<strong>BC</strong>CA), <strong>and</strong> is supported by the B.C. Cancer Foundation. With direct links to the cancer<br />

centres across the province, discoveries at the <strong>BC</strong>CRC are quickly translated into clinical applications.<br />

<strong>BC</strong>CRC is home to eight research departments, <strong>and</strong> <strong>BC</strong>CA Laboratory research takes place primarily in specific centres:<br />
