CHHM aims to prevent falls and hip fractures through early intervention with programs for youths and seniors, educate and train skilled
scientists and clinicians, detect osteoarthritis at an early stage, treat bone and joint problems with more effective surgical solutions, including
minimally invasive surgeries, evaluate the impact, effectiveness and costs of novel interventions, translate research that is relevant,
effective and sustainable into programs, practices and policies through knowledge integration.
CHHM brings together researchers from a wide range of disciplines to investigate and treat hip fractures and osteoarthritis, and create
new surgical solutions
CHHM integrated research program focuses on four key areas:
• Hip Fracture Prevention.
• Early Detection of Hip Osteoarthritis
• Surgical Solutions
CLINICAL TRIALS AND PRECLINICAL INFRASTRUCTURE ASSET MAP
• Knowledge Translation
DDSC trains undergraduate medical students to have a grounding and basic training in Dermatology through the Undergraduate Program,
while graduate medical students are trained to become fully licensed Dermatologists in our Postgraduate Program for residents.
DDSC Research involves research through the Clinical Trials Unit and our five specialized laboratories:
• Skin Cancer Biology Laboratory
• Photomedicine and Optics Laboratory
• Hair Research Laboratory
• Immunodermatology Laboratory
• Laboratory of Predictive Medicine and Therapeutics
By analyzing the needs of the community, DDSC design research projects to address those needs. The output of DDSC research is new
knowledge, new drugs, new techniques, new patents, and more – DDSC take this information back to our clinical settings to help and
treat out patients.
