Students (and teachers) will also be assessed according to how they<br />
demonstrate the following Habits of Mind and Heart (these are still in draft form<br />
and open to revision)3:<br />
0 The Habit of Perspectives & Evidence<br />
Addressing questions from multiple viewpoints and using a variety of<br />
ways to solve problems and bringing together relevant information,<br />
judging the credibility of sources, finding out for one's self<br />
0 The Habit of Connections<br />
Looking for patterns and for ways in which things fit together in order to<br />
bring together diverse material and form solutions<br />
0 The Habit of Convention<br />
Meeting accepted standards in any academic area in order to be<br />
understood and to understand others; adhering to appropriate guidelines<br />
for the different environments one is in such as school, internship sites,<br />
etc.<br />
0 The Habit of Perseverance<br />
Seeing things through and staying in there even in the face of adversity<br />
0 The Habit of Exploration & Innovation<br />
Seeking and being open to new experiences and ideas; taking risks and<br />
meeting challenges; creatively coming up with new solutions and ideas<br />
0 The Habit of Collaboration<br />
Accepting and giving assistance; working with diverse groups of people<br />
0 The Habit of Leadership & Integrity<br />
Taking initiative in the service of the common good; doing the right thing<br />
even when no one is looking; acting ethically, with honesty and<br />
compassion for others<br />
• While student achievement is the ultimate measure of the school's success, it is<br />
also important that students and families are satisfied with the program and<br />
direction of the school and feel as if it is meeting their needs. A minimum of<br />
