generally accepted accounting principles. Audit exceptions and deficiencies shall be<br />
resolved in conference with the auditor to the satisfaction of the auditing agency and<br />
OUSD. To the extent possible, <strong>ARISE</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> agrees to resolve outstanding<br />
issues from the audit prior to the completion of the auditor's final report. The audit will<br />
be completed and submitted to OUSD, the California Department of Education, and<br />
the State Board of Education by December 15 th following each school year. <strong>ARISE</strong><br />
<strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> will provide interim financial data required by the district to fulfill its<br />
obligation to the county and state.<br />
<strong>ARISE</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> will receive funding directly pursuant to California Education Code<br />
Sections 47630-47635 and all applicable education codes.<br />
CLOSURE PROTOCOL<br />
Should <strong>ARISE</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> close, the following procedures will be followed to ensure<br />
an orderly closing of the school:<br />
1. If possible, staff will be given at least 75 calendar days notice of the closing.<br />
2. If possible, parents and students will be given at least 60 calendar days notice<br />
of the closing, and will be provided with information about their attendance<br />
alternatives.<br />
3. An independent educational consultant will be hired to collect, organize, and<br />
submit all student records to the District and/or the school that receives the<br />
students. Copies of the records will be sent to the District of residence.<br />
4. An independent auditor will be hired to catalogue all assets and determine the<br />
extent of liabilities of the school. The auditor will also perform a final audit of the<br />
school's finances. Sufficient funds will be set aside to pay for the final audit and<br />
the safe storage of records for up to one year while students find new schools<br />
that can accept the files.<br />
5. The school's attorney will pay down all liabilities and transfer all remaining<br />
assets, as allowable by law, to another non-profit educational institution.<br />
Additional policies and procedures will be determined as needed by the board of<br />
directors based on the needs of the school and the District.<br />
