KeyCite Notes Citation Research on Westlaw When you identify a relevant headnote in a case, use KeyCite Notes to retrieve a list of citing references that discuss legal issues similar to the one summarized in that headnote. From a displayed case (Figure 12.13), follow these steps: 1. Click KeyCite Notes in a headnote classification hierarchy in the case, or click the KeyCite Notes icon alongside a headnote number in a headnote classification hierarchy or in the text of the opinion.
