If global warming persists, ice cover on the peaks <strong>of</strong> the Rwenzoris (Baker, Speke and<br />

Stanley) will disappear altogether by 2023 (Mileham et al in press). In 1987 there was<br />

more snow on the Stanely, Baker and Speke peaks but by 2005 there are strong signs<br />

<strong>of</strong> reduction in snow. The disappearance <strong>of</strong> the ice cover will mean reduced water<br />
