Karamoja 60 Karamoja Increase in agriculture Karamoja region comprises of the districts of Kaabong, Kotido, Moroto, Nakapiripirit and Abim. These form part of the cattle corridor and the farming systems are agropastrolism and the cereal-cotton-cattle farming systems. The satellite images of September 1984 and August 2002 which is a harvest season show increase in areas
Karamoja 1986 . under agriculture. The main crops grown are cereals especially sorghum, cotton, cassava, maize, simsim, sunflower and groundnuts. Although there is an increase in agriculture frequent droughts have made these areas to be food insecure. 61
