RESOLUTION NO. 13- 183<br />
APPROVING GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM CONTRACT<br />
(Court Services)<br />
WHEREAS, the Cindy Bischof Law, which was effective January 1, 2009 and requires that offenders<br />
pending charges or convicted of Violation of Order of Protection may be ordered to active Global Position<br />
Satellite Monitoring by the judiciary; and<br />
WHEREAS, to comply with the law, Court Services issued a Request for Proposal for equipment<br />
rental and vendor services; and<br />
WHEREAS, three vendors responded on RFP 08-013 GPS Systems and Monitoring Services for the<br />
provision of active Global Positioning System equipment and services; and<br />
WHEREAS, 3M Electronic Monitoring Services scored highest among the vendors based upon their<br />
ability to provide a functional one piece unit, quality of software, cost, functionality of the bracelet and<br />
references, and has satisfactorily provided these services to the <strong>County</strong>; and<br />
WHEREAS, the <strong>County</strong> has reviewed other systems and equipment and has determined that a<br />
contract with 3M Electronic Monitoring Services is in the best interest of the people of <strong>Kane</strong> <strong>County</strong>.<br />
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the <strong>Kane</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board that the Chairman be, and<br />
hereby is authorized to enter into a contract with 3M Electronic Monitoring Systems for the provision of<br />
Global Positioning System and Monitoring for two (2) years with a mutual option for two (2) additional one<br />
year renewal periods.<br />
