SUMMARY: On April 30, 2013, construction bids were opened at the Division of Transportation office for the Keslinger Road over
tributary to Mill Creek bridge replacement project. This bridge is located near Bunker Road in Blackberry Township. The
scope of this project involves replacement of the existing structure. Sections of pavement leading up to the bridge will be
both surface milled and fully removed and replaced to facilitate the replacement and render a smooth riding condition. A
partial road closure allowing eastbound traffic, combined with a detour using Bunker Road, Hughes Road and IL 47 for other
traffic movement will be required to build this project. The project is expected to begin in July/August and be completed in
2013, with an anticipated duration of 75 Working Days.
The apparent low bidder is Copenhaver Construction, Inc.., of Gilberts, Illinois, with a proposed contract amount of
$1,246,180.25; approximately 12.98% below the engineer's estimate of $1,432,130.00.
