An excursion for all students of the master programme is offered every semester.
The master programme is very much oriented towards urban design; the number of construction
Projects and seminars may be chosen freely by the students; however students must also complete
a binding module block on an annual basis. All students must complete this block.
The students do not choose single subjects, but a block of subjects. In order to gain credits, all
parts of the module must be passed. Students can only enrol in one project and one seminar at a
time, since all projects and all seminars are taught at the same time and enrolment in additional
courses would result in overlapping.
The instruction is organised in a very rigid, school-based manner. Classes begin at 8:30 and end
at 18:00. All advising is conducted by the professors themselves; there are no additional advisors
or assistants. Most of the time students work at the university, where the professor approaches
the student in his/her working space and not the other way around. There are no studio working
spaces; the students can however use classrooms as working spaces when classes are not being
held in them. At all other times, students work at home.
The projects are mostly worked on in groups: about 2 students per group in the design phase and
4 in the analysis phase.
