Study programme structure
Study programme 1: 2 year. After the first two years students may transfer to another study
concentration (usually to engineering).

Spanish grading system equates to a 1 in the German system.

For the subject Proycetos, there are working groups of about 30 students per lecturer.
The student groups work in assigned studio working spaces. On one to two days a week
group critiques are held, during which time the students do not engage in design work. There
is no theoretical lecture; each professor can, however, as required add an additional hour-long
lecture.
The urban design studio takes place twice a week. It has a theoretical part (with a written
exam) as well as a practical part. The theoretical instruction includes the theory and history
of urban design.
The practical part includes the urban design of a site which the lecturer chooses before the
commencement of the studio course. The students begin the studio with an analysis before
moving on to the actual design. This analysis, however, does not have significant influence
on the final grade. The groups have up to 30 students; each group is assigned one lecturer.
The final project includes following aspects: design, construction, structures and installation
calculation, measurement and cost calculation.
