The Department <strong>of</strong> Built Environment at the Eindhoven University <strong>of</strong> Technology <strong>of</strong>fers a three<br />

year Bachelors programme in Dutch and a two year Masters programme in English.<br />

An introductory year <strong>of</strong> study needs to be successfully completed in order to gain admission into<br />

the Bachelor programme.<br />

There are two Masters programmes <strong>of</strong>fered:<br />

- <strong>Architecture</strong>, Building and Planning<br />

- Construction Management and Engineering<br />

In Germany, the latter two are <strong>of</strong>fered by the <strong>Faculty</strong> <strong>of</strong> Civil Engineering. Hence, this assessment<br />

covers the ‘<strong>Architecture</strong>, Building and Planning’ (ABP) programme only.<br />

BACHELOR<br />

Students in their second year <strong>of</strong> the Bachelor programme can choose one <strong>of</strong> the following four<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>iles:<br />

<strong>Architecture</strong> – Engineering<br />

Engineering – Management<br />

Management – City planning<br />

City Planning – <strong>Architecture</strong>.<br />

The third Bachelor year <strong>of</strong>fers a ‘Minor’ programme designed to consolidate previous studies or<br />

widen the student’s knowledge base beyond the field <strong>of</strong> architecture.<br />

MASTER<br />

<strong>Faculty</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Architecture</strong> | <strong>RWTH</strong> <strong>Aachen</strong><br />

The Masters programme‚ ’<strong>Architecture</strong>, Building and Planning’ (ABP 2012/2013) <strong>of</strong>fers six<br />

separate courses:<br />

<strong>Architecture</strong><br />

Building Innovation and Construction Technology<br />

Real Estate Management & Development<br />

Structural Design<br />

Urban Design & Planning<br />

Building physics and Systems<br />

Assessments II and III cover the course <strong>of</strong> ’<strong>Architecture</strong>’ only.<br />

Within the Master programme, 105 out <strong>of</strong> a total <strong>of</strong> 120 ECTS are gained through compulsory<br />

courses. The remaining 15 Credits can be attained through optional courses at any time over the<br />

four semesters. For this assessment, 11 Credits were accredited to the first year and four were<br />

accredited to the second year.<br />
