´Numerus Claurus´ (Restricted Admission): The grade average of the previous years was
7.42 (a 10 in the Spanish grading system equates to a 1 in the German system). The ratio of
the Spanish Credits to ECTS Credits is 4/3. 10 hours of work equate to one spanish Credit.
Most structural and construction design professors are by training construction engineers. As
a result, the level of these courses is clearly higher than those offered by the RWTH. This is
surely also justified by the fact that the Spanish architect must also encompass the functions
of a structural and construction engineer.
The subject historic building preservation includes significant theoretical content regarding
restoration techniques and construction research. Beyond this, many seminars and design
studios offer opportunities for constructive analysis of buildings under historic preservation.
The projects are in general more comprehensive than comparable courses at the RWTH.
