Delft University of Technology‘s Faculty of Architecture offers a three year Bachelors programme
On entering the Masters programme, students must choose from one of five programme tracks:
Architecture, Urbanism, Real Estate & Housing, Building Technology or Landscape Architecture.
It is not least due to the inclusion of engineering that the Delft‘s Faculty of Architecture has 3,300
students. Enrolement takes place annually on the 1st of September, yet the academic year
remains divided into two semesters.
In the ’Bachelor 5’ semester a ‘Minor’ programme offers students a choice of special courses to
Within the first term of the Masters programme in Architecture, TU Delft offers a choice of
‘Studios’. These Studios can be described as ‘packages’ in which a project is supported by a
fixed number of relevant courses. A Studio coordinator is responsible for selecting courses and
acts as point of contact for students.
’Studios’ within the Masters programme comprise 30 ECTS points each, of which 12 or 15 go
towards the design project.
The Assessment covers only courses from the programme track ‘Architecture’. Most of these
courses are part of a studio. Courses which are part of more than one studio are assessed only
once.
Within each Studio the main focus is on the design project.
A comprehensive presentation half way through the project called ‘midterm presentation’ is
common. External ‘critics’ are often invited to the final end of term presentation.
