The Faculty holds the fifth place in the CENSIS Servizi s. p. a. 2009 (Italian university ranking). In
this ranking 22 universities were examined according to the quality of their didactics, productivity,
research and internationality.

There are two types of optional courses:
1. Free Optionals (Discipline a Scelta):
- Boat construction, experimental course (Corso Sperimentale di Progettazione Navale).
- Construction and prototype (Costruzioni e Prototipi)
- Geo-technology (Geotecnica)
2. AAF - Altre Attivitá Formative – Other practical activities
- Workshops in conjunction with other international universities (Perù, Delft, Belgrade)
- Workshops/ events in conjunction with social and architectural organisations.

Due to the implementation of the Bologna system and changements of the existing study
programmes into Bachelor and Master, the ECTS- Credits of Assessment II do not match the listed

Due to the implementation of the Bologna system and changements of the existing study

As is common in Italian universities, the studio working spaces (Laboratori) are provided by the
university. The students, nevertheless, do not have a fixed working space. The Laboratori are
usually large auditoriums to which students can bring their laptops.
The design studios have a theoretical (lecture) and a practical part, both at which attendance is
required. The students are required to be present in the working spaces for 8 hours a week. During
this time the professors, in addition to two assistants, offer consultation.
