Mr. Doyle. Now, Witness, just a m<strong>in</strong>ute. I will have to declare<br />

you out of order. If you <strong>in</strong>sist on <strong>in</strong>terrupt<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> hear<strong>in</strong>g, we will<br />

have to ask that you be removed from <strong>the</strong> hear<strong>in</strong>g room. I do not<br />

want to do that, and you do not want it. So please cooperate. You<br />

have made your little speech. Now proceed and ei<strong>the</strong>r cooperate with<br />

<strong>the</strong> committee or not, just as you choose.<br />

Mr. Doyle. I order and direct you to answer that question. We<br />

beheve it is pert<strong>in</strong>ent, legally. You have made your speech, and we<br />

have been glad to give you 2 or 3 m<strong>in</strong>utes to make it. But that is it.<br />

Mrs. PosNER. Bj^ virtue of <strong>the</strong> statement, this will be just <strong>the</strong> one<br />

sentence, Mr. Doyle, by virtue of <strong>the</strong> statement that you read at this<br />

hear<strong>in</strong>g, I must at this po<strong>in</strong>t decl<strong>in</strong>e to cooperate with <strong>the</strong> committee<br />

and thank God that <strong>the</strong> framers of our Constitution and <strong>the</strong> Bill of<br />

Rights <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>the</strong> fifth amendment, which I now <strong>in</strong>voke.<br />

Mr. NiTTLE. Are you <strong>in</strong>vok<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> self-<strong>in</strong>crim<strong>in</strong>ation clause of <strong>the</strong><br />

fifth amendment, Mrs. Posner?<br />

Posner Exhibit No. 1.<br />

I call your attention to <strong>the</strong> last item on page 3 of this exhibit, which<br />

<strong>in</strong>dicates that you were, and perhaps still are, chairman pro tem of<br />

<strong>the</strong> Office Committee of <strong>Women</strong> <strong>Strike</strong> <strong>for</strong> Peace, Metropolitan New<br />

York, New Jersey, Connecticut.<br />

Are you <strong>the</strong> chairman pro tem of <strong>the</strong> Office Committee of <strong>Women</strong><br />

<strong>Strike</strong> <strong>for</strong> Peace <strong>for</strong> Metropolitan New York, New Jersey, and<br />

Connecticut?<br />
