Customizing Your GNOME Desktop Use Desktop Preferences to customize your GNOME desktop. Some of the settings you might want to change include the desktop background, screen saver, keyboard and mouse, sounds, and file associations. Start by clicking Desktop → GNOME Control Center then select the desktop settings to modify. In the individual modules, access help for the options by clicking Help.
