Jirisan National Park<br />
Standing alongside Geumgangsan and Hallasan<br />
Mountain, Jirisan was known as one of<br />
the samshinsan, 3 mountains in which god is<br />
believed to exist from ancient times. Its name,<br />
Jirisan (perceive the truth), was granted because<br />
it supposedly makes a wise man out of<br />
a fool who stays in the mountain.<br />
The national park embraces the valleys of<br />
Baemsagol, Chilseon, Daewonsa, and boasts<br />
excellent views of the impressive Guryong,<br />
Buril, and Yongchu waterfalls. With big and<br />
small surrounding ranges entangled together,<br />
no other mountain could hope to imitate<br />
Jirisan’s magnificent views.<br />
Halleyo National Marine Park<br />
"Hallyeo" is named after the first syllables of<br />
"Hansando" Island and "Yeosu", which are<br />
the two representative regions that belong to<br />
the district of Halleyo National Marine Park.<br />
The national park is extended within the area<br />
between Geoje and Odong Island in Yeosu,<br />
and the famous Geumsan Mountain in Namhae,<br />
Haegeumgang River in Geoje, and Hansando<br />
Island in Tongyeong, which are proud of<br />
beautiful and unique sceneries, also belongs<br />
to the district. Following the west coastline,<br />
there are red camellias blooming everywhere<br />
