Late medical/social (MEDSOC)
applications
If parents/carers submit an ‘on time’
application and are not offered a
place at a preferred school and then
submit late MEDSOC information
after 31 October 2012, their
application on these grounds cannot
be considered as ‘on time’. This will
result in a second application being
generated after 1 March 2013, which
will be treated as a late application.
As the admissions authority for our
community and voluntary-controlled
schools, Lambeth Council will be
unable to apply the MEDSOC
criterion application without the
relevant paperwork. If that
paperwork is submitted late, then
the application will be considered
late also.
If the MEDSOC panel agrees to
prioritise late applications on
medical/social grounds and the
school is already full, then the child’s
position on the waiting list will
change accordingly.
