The following criteria will apply to any children seeking in year admission if there are more applicants than spaces available. 1. Casual admissions into years 7 and 8 If there are any casual admissions into years 7 and 8 (i.e if the numbers in any year group fall below 125) but there are more applicants than spaces available, after the admission of any children with a statement of SEN which names the school, the following criteria will apply in order i) Children who are looked after by a local authority and former looked after children. ii) The remaining places will be offered to pupils who live nearest to the Hackford Road gates of the secondary site of the Academy on the basis of proximity, in a straight line as the crow flies. Proof or residence will be required (council tax bill, utility bill). If false or misleading information is used to gain entry to the Academy, the application will be reconsidered and the correct level of priority given which may result in the offer of a place being withdrawn. Appeal arrangements Unsuccessful applicants have the right to appeal against the decision to an Independent Admissions Appeals Panel established under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. Independent appeals for this school are arranged by school staff. Please telephone the Academy for an appeals form. How to apply Applications must be made using the Common Application Form from your home borough by 31 October 2012. However, we are encouraging applicants to submit their application no later than the 26 October 2012 (i.e. the Friday before half term), to allow it sufficient time for processing and checking.
