If <strong>the</strong>re is over-subscription <strong>in</strong> any of<br />
<strong>the</strong> above categories, <strong>the</strong> govern<strong>in</strong>g<br />
body will allocate places <strong>in</strong><br />
accordance with <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g criteria<br />
<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> order of priority set out below:<br />
(a) A direct l<strong>in</strong>k with <strong>the</strong> school: <strong>the</strong><br />
presence of a bro<strong>the</strong>r or sister <strong>in</strong><br />
school at <strong>the</strong> time of admission. By<br />
‘bro<strong>the</strong>r or sister’ we mean natural<br />
bro<strong>the</strong>rs or sisters or legally adopted<br />
sibl<strong>in</strong>gs. Evidence of <strong>the</strong> relationship<br />
will be required.<br />
(b) Those with special<br />
circumstances (medical or social<br />
factors affect<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> pupil or <strong>the</strong><br />
family). The govern<strong>in</strong>g body will<br />
require written evidence <strong>in</strong> such<br />
cases from any relevant professional<br />
at <strong>the</strong> time of <strong>the</strong> application.<br />
(c) Priority will be given to those<br />
applicants who live nearer to <strong>the</strong><br />
school (as measured by a straight<br />
l<strong>in</strong>e from <strong>the</strong> school gate to <strong>the</strong><br />
applicant’s home), us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
measurement supplied by a<br />
computerised mapp<strong>in</strong>g system from<br />
<strong>the</strong> Local Authority.<br />
Religious practice<br />
In assess<strong>in</strong>g commitment and<br />
practice <strong>the</strong> Governors will take <strong>in</strong>to<br />
account frequency of Mass<br />
attendance. Applications will be<br />
ranked <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g order: those<br />
who attend Mass weekly, fortnightly,<br />
monthly, less than once a month,<br />
never and with priority be<strong>in</strong>g given to<br />
children baptised with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> first year<br />
of birth. This will be determ<strong>in</strong>ed<br />
accord<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>formation<br />
submitted on <strong>the</strong> applicant’s<br />
supplementary form. For Catholic<br />
applicants <strong>the</strong> Govern<strong>in</strong>g Body will<br />
also seek written support from <strong>the</strong><br />
Priest at <strong>the</strong> place where <strong>the</strong> family<br />
regularly attends Sunday Mass,<br />
<strong>in</strong> order to confirm <strong>the</strong>ir frequency<br />
of Mass attendance. Applications<br />
must be supported by an orig<strong>in</strong>al<br />
baptismal certificate for <strong>the</strong> child.<br />

Appeal arrangements<br />
Unsuccessful applicants will have <strong>the</strong><br />
right to appeal aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> decision<br />
to an Independent Admissions<br />
Appeals Panel established under <strong>the</strong><br />
School Standards and Framework<br />
Act 1998. Independent appeals for<br />
this school are arranged by school<br />
staff, please write to <strong>the</strong> school for<br />
an appeals form.<br />

by 31 October 2012. However,<br />
we are encourag<strong>in</strong>g applicants<br />
to submit <strong>the</strong>ir application no<br />
later than <strong>the</strong> 26 October 2012<br />
(i.e. <strong>the</strong> Friday before half<br />
term), to allow it sufficient time<br />
for process<strong>in</strong>g and check<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
