Introduction<br />

Stockwell Park High School is a<br />

mixed Academy with specialisms <strong>in</strong><br />

Bus<strong>in</strong>ess and Enterprise and Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g.<br />

We were designated `Outstand<strong>in</strong>g' by<br />

Ofsted <strong>in</strong> 2006 and 2008. We are<br />

also a member of <strong>the</strong> Lead<strong>in</strong>g Edge<br />

programme, a national network<br />

of high-perform<strong>in</strong>g schools. In<br />

2011, 72% of our pupils achieved<br />

GCSE grades A*–C <strong>in</strong> English and<br />

Ma<strong>the</strong>matics, with 75% achiev<strong>in</strong>g five<br />

GCSE grades at A*–C or equivalent.<br />

There is an exceptionally strong<br />

school ethos and we are proud of<br />

<strong>the</strong> way our specialisms permeate all<br />

aspects of school life. Our pupils are<br />

expected to demonstrate enterprise<br />

capability through decision-mak<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

leadership, manag<strong>in</strong>g risk and<br />

problem-solv<strong>in</strong>g. Ample<br />

opportunities exist for pupils to<br />

develop <strong>the</strong>se skills, both with<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

timetabled curriculum and beyond,<br />

through our extensive Academies<br />

Programme. Visitors to <strong>the</strong> school<br />

often comment on <strong>the</strong> calm,<br />

purposeful and well-ordered<br />

atmosphere.<br />

Educational environment<br />

We have an outstand<strong>in</strong>g new<br />

build<strong>in</strong>g, with excellent facilities<br />

<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g state of <strong>the</strong> art ICT suites,<br />

Science Laboratories and a new<br />

sports hall, built and equipped to<br />

Sport England standards. The<br />

build<strong>in</strong>g was designed for yearbased<br />

learn<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> small `school<br />

with<strong>in</strong> a school' model with many<br />

opportunities for personalised<br />

learn<strong>in</strong>g and close pupil support.<br />

Every child who enters Stockwell<br />

Park High School should be aim<strong>in</strong>g<br />

high because we will have high<br />

expectations of him/her. By provid<strong>in</strong>g<br />

a very broad curriculum tailored to<br />

pupils' <strong>in</strong>dividual needs, toge<strong>the</strong>r<br />

with high-quality teach<strong>in</strong>g, we expect<br />

our pupils to build on <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

achievements from primary school<br />

and fulfil <strong>the</strong>ir potential. As a Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

School, we actively encourage <strong>the</strong><br />

professional development of staff,<br />

enabl<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> school to stay at <strong>the</strong><br />

Curriculum<br />
