Common Application Form (CAF)<br />
When apply<strong>in</strong>g for a secondary school place us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Lambeth</strong>’s CAF please ensure that you have:<br />
Researched thoroughly each school you are <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong>. You can do this by read<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> prospectus available<br />
from <strong>the</strong> school or <strong>in</strong>formation <strong>in</strong> this booklet. If it is not a <strong>Lambeth</strong> school you will need to obta<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>formation<br />
from <strong>the</strong> school or <strong>the</strong> school’s borough<br />
Checked that your child’s address is with<strong>in</strong> <strong>Lambeth</strong> borough<br />
Checked that your child meets <strong>the</strong> admissions criteria for <strong>the</strong> schools you are consider<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Completed all relevant sections of <strong>the</strong> onl<strong>in</strong>e or paper CAF. Failure to complete <strong>the</strong> CAF <strong>in</strong> full may h<strong>in</strong>der its<br />
process<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Enclosed any support<strong>in</strong>g evidence (eg. a letter from <strong>the</strong> family doctor/consultant <strong>in</strong> support of any medical claim).<br />
For onl<strong>in</strong>e applications you will need to send this directly to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Lambeth</strong> School Admissions Team with your<br />
child’s name, date of birth and <strong>the</strong> onl<strong>in</strong>e CAF reference number<br />
Used <strong>the</strong> correct postage, when send<strong>in</strong>g any paper CAFs to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Lambeth</strong> School Admissions Team<br />
Included a stamped addressed envelope when submitt<strong>in</strong>g a paper CAF. Please note that for paper CAFs we<br />
will only send a receipt as proof that this form has been received if a stamped addressed envelope is<br />
attached. For onl<strong>in</strong>e applicants proof of receipt is automatically generated, upon submission, through <strong>the</strong><br />
generation of a unique reference number<br />
Obta<strong>in</strong>ed and completed any supplementary <strong>in</strong>formation forms (SIF) from schools that require <strong>the</strong>m. The <strong>Lambeth</strong><br />
schools SIFs are located at <strong>the</strong> back of this booklet. The SIFs must be returned to <strong>the</strong> school by 19 or 26<br />
October, depend<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> school. However, we strongly recommend that you submit your CAF onl<strong>in</strong>e<br />
or by post so that we receive it by Friday 26 October 2012. This is <strong>the</strong> Friday before <strong>the</strong> half-term holiday.<br />
Applications received by Wednesday 31 October 2012 will be accepted. However, if your application is received<br />
by Friday 26 October 2012, we can ensure that it is checked and acknowledged before <strong>the</strong> clos<strong>in</strong>g date<br />
Parents/carers who prefer to hand <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> a form at <strong>the</strong>ir child’s primary school, will need to ensure that <strong>the</strong>y do<br />
this by Friday 26 October 2012, so that <strong>the</strong> school can forward it to us before <strong>the</strong> half-term holiday<br />
Considered apply<strong>in</strong>g onl<strong>in</strong>e: We recommend apply<strong>in</strong>g onl<strong>in</strong>e as this avoids any potential problems with <strong>the</strong> post.<br />
In addition to your notification letter you will also be able to f<strong>in</strong>d out <strong>the</strong> result of your application onl<strong>in</strong>e on 1 March<br />
<strong>2013</strong>, <strong>the</strong>refore you will not have to rely on wait<strong>in</strong>g for your letter to arrive <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> post. In addition to this, with<br />
electronic applications you have an advantage of be<strong>in</strong>g able to amend your preferences at any time up until <strong>the</strong><br />
clos<strong>in</strong>g date.<br />
The completed Common Application<br />
Forms should be returned by<br />
Wednesday 31 October 2012.<br />
However, we are encourag<strong>in</strong>g<br />
applicants to submit <strong>the</strong>ir application<br />
no later than 26 October 2012<br />
(i.e. <strong>the</strong> Friday before half term),<br />
to allow it sufficient time for<br />
process<strong>in</strong>g and check<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
