The method <strong>of</strong> calculating back-up costs<br />

Wind or solar power corresponds with demand for electricity only to a limited extent. Therefore, storage<br />

systems or conventional power plants are necessary for power generation to coincide with demand.<br />

The back-up costs can be calculated which correspond to the surcharge caused by this limited<br />

correspondence. They are added to the costs <strong>of</strong> power generated by the wind energy converter or<br />
