Group, since February 2005. Her research focuses on gender and<br />

transport issues.<br />

Rory du Plessis is a part time lecturer in the Department of Visual Arts.<br />

His research focus is the investigation of masculinity within<br />

postcolonial debates, specifically the highlighting of masculinity<br />

discursive efforts to reconcile its relationship to 'the other'.<br />

Amanda du Preez, University of Pretoria<br />

Amanda du Preez teaches in the Department of Visual Arts. Her<br />

research interest is focused on sex and gender theory, with a specific<br />

emphasis on the relationship between sex, gender and technology.<br />

Lize Kriel, University of Pretoria<br />

Lize Kriel teaches in the Department of Historical Studies. She is<br />

interested in transcultural encounters between European and African<br />

men and women as represented in colonial (particularly missionary)<br />

correspondence and publications.<br />

Mac Mashiri is a consultant and leader of multi-disciplinary teams<br />

concentrating on social, institutional, technical, economic & strategic<br />

planning aspects of transport infrastructure and services, capacity<br />

building, preparation of business plans & project design.<br />
